The openers made a partnership of 41 runs just before Rachel Haynes got out. Captain Meg Lanning then came in but got out for a duck. Opener Alyssa Healy scored 35 runs along with Ellyse Perry who made a contribution of 24 runs. The middle-order then stacked up most of the runs which took the Aussies to a total of 264 runs. Jhulan Goswami and Pooja Vastrakar picked up three wickets each for India. India's top three gave their side a good start but the middle order collapsed quickly. The lower order then stood up for India with both Deepti Sharma and Sneh Rana getting them close to the total. Finally, Jhulan Goswami hit the winning runs for India to give them a marvelous win against the mighty Aussies. This win broke Australia's 26-match winning streak. Jhulan Goswami was awarded the player of the match for her three-wicket haul and for hitting the winning runs.
