Galway United Football Club (Cumann Peile Ghaillimh Aontaithe) is an Irish professional football club based in Galway. Following their promotion from the First Division in 2023, they compete in the League of Ireland Premier Division. The team was originally formed in the 1930s as Galway Rovers F.C. They made their League of Ireland debut in the 1977–78 season and changed their name to Galway United in 1981–82.

Due to financial difficulties, the club withdrew from the League of Ireland after the 2011 season but returned in 2014; initially, they played as Galway F.C. for one season. Like other sports teams from the county, Galway United is nicknamed "The Tribesmen." This name is derived from the "14 Tribes of Galway," a term used for the merchant families who founded the city.
