Thailand Women tour of Papua New Guinea, 2026

Cricket Papua New Guinea (CPNG) will host the Thailand women's national team at Amini Park Cricket Ground in Port Moresby from August 10 to 17, 2026. The series will feature One Day International (ODI) and T20 International (T20I) matches—the latter carrying ICC T20I team ranking points. This marks the first bilateral series between the two cricket boards; while the teams have previously faced each other in T20Is during multi-nation events or tournaments, they have never played an ODI against one another. This series falls within the second cycle of the Women's Cricket World Cup qualification process, with both teams having retained their ODI status through to 2029.

The series holds significant importance for the Thailand women's team, as, following the tour, they will travel to the UAE to participate in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Women's Asia Cup, commencing on August 28, 2026. Players from the 'Lewas' (the Papua New Guinea women's team) have prepared for this series by participating in a recently concluded domestic ODI tournament. Unlike men's teams, there is no dedicated pathway tournament for women's Associate teams holding ODI status; consequently, these teams (Scotland, the Netherlands, Thailand, Papua New Guinea, and the UAE) must rely on bilateral agreements to remain in contention for a spot in the Women's World Cup qualifiers—a matter on which no official decision has yet been reached.
