Women's Asia Cup 2024: Pakistan squad for the tournament announced

Asia Cup 2024 is going to start soon. Pakistan Cricket Board has announced its 15-member women's team for this tournament to be held in Sri Lanka. Experienced all-rounder Nida Dar has been given the command of the team. Apart from this, many players have not been given a place in this team. Recently, the performance of the Pakistan team under the captaincy of Nida Dar was poor. Pakistan women's team had to face defeat against England by 2-0 in ODIs and 3-0 in T20s.

Ayesha Zafar and Shadaf Shamas, who played against England, have not been included in the team selected for Asia Cup 2024. Iram Javed, Omaima Sohail and Syeda Arub Shah have returned to the team. Apart from this, 22-year-old fast bowler Tasmia Rubab has got a place in the Pakistan team for the first time. The Pakistan Cricket Board announced the team after a 4-day camp in Karachi.

Before flying to Sri Lanka, the Pakistan team will take part in a 12-day camp. This camp will start from July 5 and will run till July 16. Let us tell you that the Asia Cup will be the first tournament of new head coach Mohammad Wasim, assistant coach Junaid Khan and spin bowling coach Abdur Rahman.

Pakistan team in Group A

Pakistan's team is in Group A in Asia Cup 2024. Apart from that, teams from India, Nepal and UAE are also included in this group. The tournament will start from July 19. The first 2 matches will be played. In the first match, Nepal will face UAE and in the second match, Pakistan's team will face India. All the matches of the tournament will be played in Dambulla. Two semi-finals will be held on July 26 and the final on Sunday, July 28.
