Namibia has qualified for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in West Indies and USA next year after defeating Tanzania by 58 runs in the qualifier tournament released on November 28.
Namibia has qualified for the T20 World Cup to be played in 2024. Namibia became the first team to qualify from the Africa Qualifiers. The Namibian team qualified for the 2024 T20 tournament by winning 5 out of five matches. With Namibia qualifying, a total of 19 places have been confirmed for the T20 World Cup and only one place is left vacant. The remaining spots are expected to be filled by one each from Zimbabwe, Kenya and Uganda.
Namibia, captained by Richard Erasmus, advanced to the T20 World Cup 2024 by defeating Tanzania by 58 runs in the last match of the qualifiers. Namibia looked in very good form throughout the qualifiers. The team did not allow the opposing team to stand ahead of them in any match.
Namibia will play in T20 World Cup for the third time: This is the third consecutive time that Namibia will participate in the ICC T20 World Cup. Namibia managed to make it to the Super 12 in 2021, but they failed to do so last year. Meanwhile, the fight is still on for the remaining one spot in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, with Uganda, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Nigeria still in the race.
