The Indian cricket team is going to play a T20 International match for the first time under the captaincy of Shubman Gill. The first match of the five-match series against Zimbabwe will be played in Harare on July 6. The BCCI had already announced the Indian team for this series, although some changes have been made in it later.

Who will open with Shubhaman Gill?

Shubman Gill did not get a place in Team India for the T20 World Cup 2024, so he will be seen on the field after a long time. He will start the innings, but who will be his partner, it has not been decided yet. Gill has two options. Abhishek Sharma has got a place in the Indian team for the first time. Also, he scored a lot of runs for his team Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. In such a situation, he can prove to be better. However, Ruturaj Gaikwad is also a part of the team. But the question is whether the team will field two right-handed batsmen or will play a left-right combination. Shubman Gill is a right-handed batsman, while Abhishek Sharma bats left-handed.

Sai Sudarshan also got a chance

After the change, Sai Sudarshan has got a place in the Indian team. He was playing for Gujarat Titans captained by Shubman Gill in the IPL and some good innings have come off his bat. He may get a chance to bat at number three. Riyan Parag's place at number four seems almost certain. He was batting at this number for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL and a lot of runs have come off his bat. There are two options as wicketkeeper batsman in the form of Dhruv Jurel and Jitesh Sharma. The form of both is not very good, but still it seems that Jitesh Sharma will win. Rinku Singh has proved himself in the role of finisher not only in the IPL but also for Team India. In such a situation, his inclusion in the playing eleven seems almost certain.
