In the second T20 match against South Africa, Arshdeep Singh got the opportunity to bowl two overs in the first six, conceding only 20 runs but failing to take any wickets. Later, captain Suryakumar Yadav brought him back to bowl the 11th over of South Africa's innings, which proved to be a nightmare for Arshdeep. In that over, Arshdeep completely lost his line and length, bowling a total of 7 wide balls, forcing him to bowl 13 deliveries in the over. Arshdeep conceded 18 runs in that over. With this, he joined a list that no bowler would want to be a part of.
Arshdeep Singh has now become the bowler to bowl the most deliveries in a single over for India in T20 Internationals, and he has also equaled the record of Afghanistan's Naveen-ul-Haq among full member teams. Haq had bowled a 13-ball over against Zimbabwe in a T20 match in 2024.
This 5-match T20 series is going to be very important for the Indian team in terms of preparations for the T20 World Cup in 2026. They managed to win the first match by 101 runs, and now they will be looking to win the second match to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
