IND vs SA 2nd T20: Arshdeep Singh bowled a 13-ball over: In the second T20 match between India and South Africa being played at the Mullanpur Stadium, Indian fast bowler Arshdeep Singh bowled a total of 13 balls in one over, subsequently becoming part of an embarrassing list.

The second match of the five-match T20 series between India and South Africa is being played at the Mullanpur Stadium in New Chandigarh. Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and elected to bowl first, but the Indian bowlers failed to justify this decision. Fast bowler Arshdeep Singh had a particularly poor performance with the ball, bowling a total of 13 deliveries in one over, thus adding his name to the unwanted list of bowlers with such a dismal record.

Arshdeep Singh bowled a total of 7 wide balls in his over -

In the second T20 match against South Africa, Arshdeep Singh got the opportunity to bowl two overs in the first six, conceding only 20 runs but failing to take any wickets. Later, captain Suryakumar Yadav brought him back to bowl the 11th over of South Africa's innings, which proved to be a nightmare for Arshdeep. In that over, Arshdeep completely lost his line and length, bowling a total of 7 wide balls, forcing him to bowl 13 deliveries in the over. Arshdeep conceded 18 runs in that over. With this, he joined a list that no bowler would want to be a part of.

Arshdeep Singh has now become the bowler to bowl the most deliveries in a single over for India in T20 Internationals, and he has also equaled the record of Afghanistan's Naveen-ul-Haq among full member teams. Haq had bowled a 13-ball over against Zimbabwe in a T20 match in 2024.

Bowlers with the most deliveries in a single over in T20 Internationals:

  1. Naveen-ul-Haq (Afghanistan) - 13 balls vs Zimbabwe (Harare, 2024)
  2. Arshdeep Singh (India) - 13 balls vs South Africa (Mullanpur, 2025)
  3. Sisanda Magala (Zimbabwe) - 12 balls vs Pakistan (Johannesburg, 2021)

A crucial series for Team India before the World Cup -

This 5-match T20 series is going to be very important for the Indian team in terms of preparations for the T20 World Cup in 2026. They managed to win the first match by 101 runs, and now they will be looking to win the second match to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
