Afghanistan has announced the team for the ODI series against South Africa. Star spinner Rashid Khan has returned to the team for this series.
Afghanistan's leading leg-spinner Rashid Khan is returning to the team for the upcoming ODI series against South Africa. The series will be played in Sharjah from 18-22 September. Rashid could not play in the last ODI series against Ireland.
He is also out of Afghanistan's only Test match against New Zealand. However, due to incessant rain in Greater Noida, the match could not start for four days and so far every day's play has been cancelled. The final decision on the match will come tomorrow.
Young batsman Abdul Malik has been included in the Afghanistan team. He has performed brilliantly in recent domestic List A competitions. Darvesh Rasooli, who has played seven T20 matches and performed consistently well in the recently held List A Cup and SCL 9 tournaments, has also got a place in the team. Chief selector Ahmed Shah Sulemankhil said in a statement that Mujeeb ur Rahman is recovering from his injury and is not available for selection. Ibrahim Zadran will also be out of South Africa ODIs due to an ankle sprain before the New Zealand Test.
