Why Jasprit Bumrah and Jadeja are not selected against Sri Lanka tour?

The BCCI selectors have decided to monitor Indias top all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and star bowler Jasprit Bumrah until they are both match-ready before returning to play. Jasprit Bumrah was deemed healthy and eligible for selection, but the selectors are hesitant to send him home right away. According to ESPNcricinfo, they want to assess him with training that simulates the effort of an actual match before bringing him back to international cricket. The same justification also explains why Ravindra Jadeja, who was earlier chosen to the team for the Bangladesh tour, is still unable to represent his nation in international cricket.

With his wife Sanjana Ganesan, Jasprit Bumrah is spending the holiday season in Paris and doesnt appear pressed for time to return. Both players, who have been absent from international cricket for more than a few months, also include all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

In order to be properly prepared for the ODI series against Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma has started to bat again in the nets. He is expected to return to action by the end of the first week of January.

As a result, he was unable to participate in the T20Is that started on January 3. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are currently taking a break after their full tour of Bangladesh. The selectors decided they needed a respite even though neither of them asked for it.

Rishabh Pant has been allocated to the NCA for strength and conditioning prior to the Test series with Australia. The team management thinks he will play a big role in the Test matches and will profit from this rest after taking part in 44 international matches this year.

India must win three of the four tests against Australia in order to progress to the World Test Championship final. It is a significant decision to name Hardik Pandya as the full-time vice-captain in all forms, recognising his leadership abilities. This should be more proof that Rahul, the former vice-captain, is not assured a place in any white-ball competition.

Despite guiding the ODI team for the previous two years while the top players focused on T20Is, Shikhar Dhawan has been benched. In lieu of him during the third One-Day International against Bangladesh, Ishan Kishan scored a double century.

Another applicant fighting for the role is Shubman Gill. Its possible that Pant, who now bats in in the middle order and scored 100 runs in three innings against England, will open the game.

As India prepares for the World Cup, the lack of Prasidh Krishna, whose height, speed, and hard lengths gave India a competitive edge in the middle overs, is a huge concern. Prasidh suffered from a back injury during the beginning of India As series against New Zealand in September, and he is still dealing with it now.In order to identify a suitable alternative for Prasidh, the selectors have enlisted the help of pacers Arshdeep Singh, Umran Malik, and Mohammed Shami.Deepak Chahar is still healing from the injury he received during the Bangladesh trip, and Bhuvneshwar Kumars name was not mentioned at all, indicating that he was dropped.

The absence of any mention of Bhuvneshwar Kumar shows that he was dropped. The ailment Deepak Chahar suffered during the Bangladesh tour is still bothering him.

After spending some time with the team the previous year, Ravi Bishnoi was let go because the selectors seemed to have decided that Yuzvendra Chahal would be the sole legspinner in the white-ball teams.

For the T20I series, Shreyas Iyer and Mohammed Siraj will have a vacation before making a comeback for the ODIs.
