Nobody will ever forget the moment when Rinku Singh hit five straight sixes off Yash Dayal in the last over to help KKR defeat the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After hitting five sixes, Yash Dayal unintentionally set a record for the third-most costly bowling spell in IPL history. The pacer threw up 69 runs in his four overs, but KKR won the match by three wickets and needed to score 207/7 to win.

When Basil Thampi was playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (then known as Royal Challengers Bangalore), he set the record for the most costly IPL stint with 70 runs conceded in four overs. It happened during the M's 2018 season. Chinvaswamy. RCB scored a high 218/6 in the opening over. Thampi failed to claim a wicket after giving up 70 runs. SRH lost by 14 runs despite scoring 204/3.
