The squads for Sri Lanka Crickets forthcoming white-ball trip to India have been released. Three T20Is and three ODIs will be played between the two teams. Both of the white-ball teams will be coached by Dasun Shanaka. In a reorganization of the leadership, Kusal Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga have been named vice-captains of the ODI and T20I teams, respectively.
Both sides have room for all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne, who was given a one-year suspension by the SLC for violating the player contract during the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. The board hasnt made any public statements on the early expiration of his suspension or even a potential lightening of the sentence.
As a result of being selected for the ODI team, Nuawindu Fernando received his first call-up to the national team. The 23-year-old recently hit an unbeaten 63 off 42 deliveries in the Lanka Premier League loss of the Galle Gladiators against the Dambulla Aura.

Both teams have dependable veterans like Pathum Nissanka, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya De Silva, Mahesh Theeksana, and Lahiru Kumara. Meanwhile, Bhanuka Rajapaksa has only been selected for the T20I squad. Prior to the three-match series against Afghanistan at home last month, the left-handed batsman asked for a sabbatical from ODI cricket recently and was dropped from the team.

The Grade 2 calf injury Dushmanta Chameera suffered at the T20 World Cup 2022 is apparently still bothering him. He is therefore excluded from both teams that will travel India.
