Sam Curran has become the most expensive player in IPL history. Sam Karan was bought by Punjab Kings by making the biggest bid in IPL auction 2023. He got 18.50 crores.

The mini auction for the upcoming season of IPL began in Kochi on Friday (December 23). Englands Sam Curran broke all the records in the auction. He has become the costliest player in IPL history. Sam Curran with a base price of Rs 2 crore was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 18.50 crore. Earlier, KL Rahul (Rs 17 crore) was the costliest player in IPL. He was included in their team by Lucknow Supergiants through the draft last year. On the other hand, talking about the auction, South Africas Chris Morris (Rs 16.25 crore) was the most expensive player. Sam Curran has earlier played for Punjab Kings. He has also been a member of Chennai Super Kings.

CSK bought Ben Stokes for Rs 16.25 crore

Money rained on Ben Stokes. He was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 16.25 crore. Stokes has earlier played with Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Lucknow Supergiants. Stokes base price was Rs 2 crore. There was fierce bidding for him between Lucknow Supergiants and Chennai. In the end, Chennai won.

New Zealand veteran and former Sunrisers Hyderabad player Kane Williamson was the first to be sold in the auction. He was bought by Gujarat Titans at the base price of Rs 2 crore only. Apart from Gujarat, no other team bid for Williamson. At the same time, Ajinkya Rahane was bought by Chennai Super Kings for a base price of Rs 50 lakh.
