On Saturday, Nepal's middle-order batsman Dipendra Singh Airee made history by becoming just the third player in T20 international cricket history to smash six sixes in a single over.Finisher Dipendra struck six consecutive sixes in the last over of Nepal's innings to lead his team to 210 for 7, accomplishing a unique accomplishment during the ACC Premier Cup Group A match against Qatar at Al Amerat.
With his outstanding performance, Dipendra became a member of the elite group alongside Kieron Pollard of the West Indies and Yuvraj Singh of India. The 24-year-old is now the fifth international to accomplish the feat overall.

With a characteristic do-rag that peeks out from behind his helmet, Dipendra Singh Airee, one of the emerging stars of Nepal's post-Paras Khadka age, delivers a mean punch with the bat. He participated in the 2016 U-19 World Cup before making his senior team debut against Kenya in 2017 at the age of 17. He was a key member of the team that led Nepal to ODI status in 2018. Even though he bowled just once in his first 22 T20Is and similarly in just a few ODIs while Khadka was captain, he started his senior team career purely as a hitter. However, when Nepal's matches restarted after the Covid epidemic, his disciplined offspin became a mainstay of the side's strategy. In addition to consistently bowling his allotted overs, Airee also showed himself to be a sharp and frugal wicket-taker, allaying fears that his inconsistent batting performance would lead to his dismissal.
In the last over of the innings, Dipendra, who was playing in his 60th Twenty20 International, tore apart bowler Kamran Khan, sending him to all parts of the ground. At the end of the innings, Dipendra was undefeated at 64 off just 21 balls, having begun the over at 28 off 15.
Dipendra hit the ball at a strike rate of more than 307 throughout his 64-run avalanche, with three fours and seven sixes overall. That being said, Dipendra has struck six consecutive sixes before.
Dipendra struck six straight sixes in two overs against Mongolia in the Asian Games in Hangzhou last year.As Nepal amassed a massive 314 for 3, which was the first time a side scored 300+ runs in a Twenty20 match, Dipendra hit 52 not out in 10 balls.
