Shoaib Bashir was given a chance to debut by the England team in the second Test match of this tour, but due to not performing as per expectations, he was dropped from the Rajkot Test. Now in the Ranchi Test, Bashir was included in place of Rehan Ahmed considering the pitch and conditions and he proved the team management's decision completely right by taking 5 wickets while giving 119 runs in 44 overs of bowling.
Bashir has now become the second youngest bowler to take 5 wickets in an innings for England in Test cricket. Bashir has accomplished this feat at the age of 20 years and 135 days. At the first place in this list is Rehan Ahmed, who took 5 wickets at the age of 18 years and 128 days in the Karachi Test match played against Pakistan in the year 2022.
