Indian cricket team reached Guwahati for their warm-up match

Prior to their September 30 exhibition match against England for the Cricket World Cup 2023, the Indian men's cricket squad arrived in Guwahati on Thursday. The 15-player Indian World Cup 2023 squad, which now includes veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in lieu of Axar Patel, was announced earlier in the day.

After suffering a left quadriceps strain during India's Asia Cup Super Four match against Bangladesh, Axar was unable to recuperate in time for the World Cup. The spin-bowling all-rounder consequently missed India's three-match ODI series against Australia as well as the Asia Cup final.

Additionally present were KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, who both recovered successfully from long-term ailments. In the games coming up to the competition, both stars have made significant contributions. Rahul made his comeback official with a stunning century against Pakistan in the Super Four Asia Cup match. Iyer also scored a century in Australia's second one-day international.

India's World Cup campaign will get underway on October 7 when they take on the five-time Champions Australia. The team of Rohit Sharma will play two exhibition games before the competition, the first against England on September 30 and the second against the Netherlands on October 3.
