Duleep Trophy 2024: India C vs India B Match

The Duleep Trophy 2024 has already delivered some thrilling encounters, and the second round promises even more action. With two exciting matches lined up – India B vs. India C and India A vs. India D – cricket fans eagerly await the outcome. India B and India C come into this match with victories in their opening games, making this clash even more exciting.

India C, led by the experienced Ruturaj Gaikwad, is looking to secure its second win in the tournament. However, India B, strengthened by the inclusion of Rinku Singh, is a formidable opponent. Rinku joins Sarfaraz Khan and Musheer Khan, adding depth and balance to the squad, making India B a tough side to beat.

Key Players Rested Ahead of Bangladesh Test Series

As the tournament progresses, several top players have been rested ahead of the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. Big names like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Akash Deep, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Dhruv Jurel will miss the second round of the Duleep Trophy. Their absence has opened doors for other talented players to shine on the domestic stage.

On national duty,

Shubman Gill passes the captaincy baton to Mayank Agarwal for India A. Meanwhile, Prasidh Krishna makes a return to the India A squad, with selectors closely watching his performance as a pace option for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.

India B vs. India C

In the India B vs. India C match, India B’s captain, Abhimanyu Easwaran, won the toss and opted to field first. India C's captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, started the innings with a boundary off the first ball from Mukesh Kumar, but unfortunately twisted his ankle and had to retire hurt on the very next delivery. Rajat Patidar was brought in to bat at No. 3, joining Sai Sudharsan at the crease to stabilize the innings.

Gaikwad’s early injury was a setback for India C, as the captain has been in solid form. In the previous round against India D, Gaikwad had played a crucial knock of 46 off 48 balls, leading his team to a thrilling victory. His absence will undoubtedly test India C’s depth and resilience.

Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Journey in Red-Ball Cricket

Ruturaj Gaikwad has been a prominent figure in domestic cricket, but his red-ball journey has had its ups and downs. Despite being named in India’s Test squad for the South Africa tour last December, he had to withdraw due to a finger injury. Gaikwad’s First-Class career, which began in 2016, has seen him amass over 2,000 runs at an impressive average of 42, with six centuries and 10 half-centuries. However, he is yet to cement his place in the Indian Test side.

India B’s Rising Star: Rinku Singh

India B, under the leadership of Abhimanyu Easwaran, looks well-prepared with the addition of Rinku Singh to their lineup. Rinku has been a standout performer in domestic and IPL matches and is expected to bring his aggressive style of play to the Duleep Trophy. Along with Sarfaraz Khan and Musheer Khan, Rinku adds power and versatility to India B’s middle order.

The match between India B and India C promises to be a captivating contest, with both teams eyeing a crucial victory. India B’s bowling unit, including Washington Sundar, Navdeep Saini, and Mukesh Kumar, will be tasked with containing India C’s talented lineup, which now relies on the experience of players like Rajat Patidar and Sai Sudharsan.
