Don't compare me with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, he is great - Rishabh Pant

Former Australian spinner Shane Warne was being compared to former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni in favor of keeping Rishabh Pant in the Indian team going to the World Cup. Shane Warne had said that as a specialist batsman, Rishabh can be played in the World Cup. I think both Dhoni and Pant can play in the team. However, now Rishabh has given his views on the matter. He has said that Dhoni is great. He and I should not be compared at all.

21-year-old Pant said that I am not thinking about comparison with Dhoni at all. I can't be compared to them anywhere. They are great. As a player, I want to learn a lot from him. I don't want people to compare me with them. I want to improve my game by being near Dhoni and learn all the important things from him. I didn't succeed in the ODI series against Australia. Still I have not lost my courage.

I am constantly trying to learn from captain Virat Kohli and Dhoni. Rishabh Pant was included in the team after Dhoni was rested for the last two matches against Australia. Pant did not perform well in both the matches. He looked unsuccessful in batting and wicketkeeping. He could only score 52 runs in the last two matches.

Rishabh Pant, Dhoni

Rishabh said that as far as the World Cup is concerned, I have not thought about it at all. I am currently playing in India only. There is a world of difference between the conditions here and the conditions in England. I am playing cricket continuously. After playing with Australia, now I will be busy with IPL. In the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League, Rishabh Pant will play for the Delhi Capitals team.
