Haryana team has won the title of Vijay Hazare Trophy. The team defeated Rajasthan by 30 runs in the final match of the ODI tournament. Sumit Kumar was adjudged Player of the Final. Along with scoring 28 unbeaten runs, he also took 3 wickets. Also, fast bowler Harshal Patel bowled brilliantly in the death overs and took 3 wickets.
On Saturday at Rajkot ground, Haryana won the toss and decided to bat and scored 287 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. Rajasthan team, which came to chase the target of 288 runs, was all out for 257 runs in 48 overs.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Haryana did not have a good start. The team lost the first wicket for 3 runs. Here Yuvraj Singh was out after scoring one run. In such a situation, Ankit Kumar (88 runs) made a partnership of 38 runs on 47 balls with Himanshu Rana. Here Himanshu was out after scoring 10 runs.
After Himanshu was out, Ankit made a partnership of 124 runs with Ashok Menaria on 151 balls. This partnership took the team's score beyond 150. In the middle order, Rohit scored 20, Nishant 29, Rahul Tewatia 24 and Sumit Kumar scored 28 runs.
Aniket Chaudhary bowled brilliantly for Rajasthan. He took 4 wickets for 49 runs in 10 overs. He bowled with an economy of 4.90. Apart from Chaudhary, Arfat Khan took 2 wickets.
Rajasthan's opener Abhijeet Tomar, who was chasing the score, played a century. He scored 106 runs on 129 balls including 10 fours and 2 sixes. Kunal Singh Rathore scored 79 runs.
For Haryana, Sumit Kumar and Harshal Patel took 3-3 wickets. Anshul and Rahul got 2-2 wickets.
