In match 17 of the IPL 2024, Shashank Singh made history by becoming the new match-winner for the Punjab Kings as he hit a spectacular blow against the Gujarat Titans.
Shashank gave a batting masterpiece to the cheering audience at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which enabled Punjab to mount a spectacular run chase.
In the December IPL 2024 auction, the Shikhar Dhawan-led team purchased the uncapped Indian all-rounder Shashank after he made a "mistake" move. Shashank scorched 61 runs in only 29 balls against Gujarat.
Indian cricket player Shashank Singh was born on November 21, 1991, and he represents Chhattisgarh. In addition to being a right-arm off-break bowler, he bats right-handed. The batting all-rounder Shashank was a part of Sunrisers Hyderabad before becoming joining Punjab Kings ahead of this season.

He has represented Mumbai, Chattisgarh and Puducherry in domestic cricket and has played 58 T20 matches, scoring 754 runs at a strike rate of 137.34.
He has also taken 15 wickets at an economy of 8.18. Apart from T20s, Shashank has played 21 FC games and 30 List-A games, scoring 858 and 986 runs respectively, and has three centuries in total.
He made his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for 2015–16 on December 10, 2015. To prepare for the 2017 Indian Premier League, the Delhi Daredevils team bought him in February 2017 for 10 lakhs.
He was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals in December 2018 at the 2019 Indian Premier League player auction. He participated in the 2019–20 Ranji Trophy for Chhattisgarh on December 9, 2019, making his first-class debut.
Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased him in February 2022 at the Indian Premier League 2022 auction.During the 2023–24 Vijay Hazare Trophy, in November 2023, he became the first Indian first-class cricketer to hit 150 runs and take five wickets in the same match against Manipur. He was purchased for 20 lakhs by the Punjab Kings franchise in December 2023 in preparation for the 2024 Indian Premier League. He is Shailesh Singh's son, an IPS officer. On April 4, 2024, he made 61* off just 29 balls against the Gujarat Titans, which helped his team, the Punjab Kings, win.
An interesting thing happened when Punjab Kings finally made an offer for Shashank Singh during the December 2024 IPL 2024 auction in Dubai.
As the auctioneer's hammer finally fell, they asked, quite abruptly, to return the player to the pot.
Notably, Punjab raised the paddle for Shashank when his name was called for an auction at a starting price of INR 20 lakh, but shortly before the next player was revealed, he filed an appeal against the decision.
Malika Sagar, the auctioneer, refused to back down from Punjab's decision to keep the player on their roster for the forthcoming auction.

'To be clear, Punjab Kings has always considered Shashank Singh to be a target. Two players with the same name appear on the list needing clarification. In an official statement, PBKS stated, 'We are thrilled to have him on board and see him contribute to our success.'

Shashank Singh, whom PBKS unintentionally purchased for a base price of Rs 20 lakh when the player's name appeared to be jumbled up at the Dubai auction.
The 32-year-old Shashank, who plays cricket for Chhattisgarh, was called out by auctioneer Mallika Sagar during the expedited round. Shashank has participated in 55 Twenty20 matches, accumulating 724 runs at a 135.83 strike rate and claiming 15 wickets. In addition to representing Chhattisgarh at the national level, he has also played for Mumbai, Puducherry, Delhi Daredevils, Rajasthan Royals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
