All four captains of the playoffs are INDIANS

In the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the play-off round matches are being played these days. As soon as the names of the four teams were cleared for this round, it was decided that this time only an Indian captain would win the trophy. Lucknow, Mumbai, Chennai and Gujarat all four have Indian captains. At the same time, the teams of the tournament which had foreign captains could not reach the top-5.

Even the teams in which both the head coach and the captain were foreigners, they remained at the last position in the points table. In the next story, we will know how successful the teams having foreign captains and coaches were in the 16th season of IPL. And how did the teams having Indian captain or Indian head coach perform.

3 captains and 7 coaches foreign

The 10 teams of IPL have 10 captains and their 10 head coaches. While 7 teams had Indian captains, 3 had foreign captains. In contrast, only 3 teams had Indian head coaches, while 7 had foreign head coaches. In these also, both the head coach and captain of 2 teams Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad are foreigners.

Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders were the only teams to have both Indian captain and coach. Apart from these 4 teams, there were 6 such teams, in which either the head coach or the captain is Indian. That is, one Indian and one foreigner were involved in the leadership role of these 6 teams.

Foreign captains in 3 teams, all three did not reach the playoffs

Like last year in IPL, this time also 10 teams were kept. Last time only Royal Challengers Bangalore made South African Faf du Plessis as captain and 9 teams had Indian captains. At the same time, along with RCB, Delhi Capitals made Australia's David Warner and Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Aiden Markram of South Africa.

SRH and DC remained at the last position in the points table. Whereas RCB finished at the sixth position. Apart from foreign captains, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings had Indian captains among the teams that were eliminated from the league stage, but they too could not make it to the playoffs. These teams stood at number 5, 7 and 8 in the points table.
