Ola S1X electric scooter launched with 4kWh battery pack

Ola Electric has launched a new variant of the S1X electric scooter in India with a larger battery pack. It will have a 4kWh battery. The company claims that it will get a range of 190km on full charge. The company has priced the new variant of the e-scooter at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

The S1X was launched in August-2023 with 2kWh and 3kWh battery pack options. The electric two-wheeler manufacturing company has started booking. Their delivery will start in April. Along with this, the company has also announced increase in Ola service centres, charging network and battery warranty across the country.

Ola has also announced 8 years / 80,000 km standard warranty on the battery of its electric scooter. Customers can extend the battery warranty up to 1,00,000 kilometers by paying Rs 4,999 and up to 1,25,000 kilometers by paying Rs 12,999.

Ola S1X: Performance

Like the 2kWh and 3kWh variants, the 4kWh variant of the S1X has a 6kW hub-mounted electric motor, which generates a power of 8bhp. It can accelerate from 0-40kmph in just 3.3 seconds and the top speed is 90kmph. Suspension features telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear with 3 riding modes – Eco, Normal and Sports.

Ola S1X: Design and features

The S1X scooter is not much different in design from the company's other existing electric scooters. It will get smiley-shaped dual-pod headlights, indicator-mounted front apron, flat footboard with rubberized mat, 34 liters of boot space and LED tail lamps. A 7-inch TFT touchscreen instrument cluster is also provided. Also, the scooter has a flat type seat and LED tail lamp with a single-piece tubular grab rail. Black cladding and steel wheels are also available at the bottom.

Company will increase service and charging network

Ola Electric will increase Ola service centers in India. The company plans to increase the service network by 50% and take the number of Ola service center network to 600 by April 2024. Ola aims to expand its charging network by 10 times.

Currently there are 1000 charging stations across the country, which will be increased to 10,000 by June. The company will install fast chargers which will charge 75% faster than home chargers and will provide a range of up to 50km in about 20 minutes of charge. Customers will also be able to buy a fast charger for ₹ 29,999 and get it installed in their home or office.
