Maruti Suzuki has revealed the new generation model of its best-selling sedan Dzire. The company is preparing to launch the car on November 11. The fourth generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire is based on the platform of the company's hatchback Maruti Swift, but its design is completely different. The car has been introduced with sunroof, 6 airbags standard and many segment first features.
The sedan will be launched in the market in 5 variants - LXI, VXI, VXI (O), ZXI, and ZXI +. The ex-showroom price of the updated model is expected to start from Rs 6.99 lakh. Currently, the price of Dzire starts from Rs 6.57 lakh (ex-showroom). This sedan will compete with Honda Amaze, Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor in the segment. The company claims that the CNG version of the car will give a mileage of 33.73km / kg.
The new generation Dzire features an all-new dashboard layout with a black and white dual-tone theme, inspired by the Swift facelift, Renault, Baleno and Brezza. It features a 9.0-inch floating infotainment system, sleek AC vents and HVAC controls below.
Apart from this, the car will get wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, connected car technology, over 40 connected car features, wireless charger, semi-digital cluster with 4.2-inch MID, steering wheel mounted controls, automatic climate control, push-button start, rear parking camera with sensors and much more.
The biggest change in the popular sedan will be in its powertrain. Instead of the K12 four-cylinder petrol engine found in the current model, it will now get a new Z-series 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, which comes in the new Swift. This engine generates 82hp of power and 112Nm of torque.
In comparison, the current model generates 90hp and 113Nm, which is 8hp and 1Nm less. For transmission, the new Swift will get the option of 5-speed manual and automatic (AMT) gearbox with the engine.
