Jawa 42 FJ 350 launched in India, price and engine, specifications

Jawa Yezdi Motorcycle has today September 4 launched the sporty version of its popular bike Jawa 42, 'Jawa 42 FJ 350' in the Indian market. The bike has been introduced with new style and powerful engine. Features like LED headlamp, semi-digital instrument console, dual-channel ABS with assist and slipper clutch have been provided as standard in this latest bike. Apart from this, cosmetic changes have been made in the design of this retro-looking bike.

Jawa 42 FJ 350' Starting Price

This new model is part of the 42 range and its starting price is Rs 1,99,142 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is Rs 26,200 more than the standard Jawa 42. The bike is offered in 5 colors and 6 variants. These include Aurora Green Matte, Mystic Copper, Cosmo Blue Matte, Deep Black Matte Red Clad and Deep Black Matte Black. Its top variant is priced at Rs 2.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Booking of the bike has started. You can book it from the official website of Jawa by paying a refundable token money of Rs 942.

In the Indian market, Jawa 42 FJ 350 will compete with the new Royal Enfield Classic 350, Royal Enfield Hunter 350, Honda H'ness CB350, Honda CB350 RS, Hero Maverick 440 and TVS Ronin.

Jawa 42 FJ 350 Design

The Jawa 42 FJ is built on the same double-cradle frame as the standard Jawa 42, but features more aggressive styling with a more prominent 'Jawa' logo on the tear-drop shaped fuel tank with a brushed aluminium finish. The side panels and fenders are carried over from the standard Jawa 42, while the seat design is new and the handlebar position has been changed for better riding comfort. The bike also features an upswept exhaust and an off-set fuel tank cap.

For comfortable riding, the neo-retro roadster bike has telescopic forks at the front and 5-step preload-adjustable twin shock absorbers at the rear. At the same time, for braking, there are 320mm disc brakes at the front and 240mm disc brakes at the rear, with dual-channel ABS as standard.

The bike has the option of 18-inch front and 17-inch rear spokes and machine cut alloy wheels, which are equipped with 100-section front and 140-section rear tires. The roadster bike has a seat height of 790mm, ground clearance of 178mm, 1440mm wheelbase and weighs 184kg, which is 2kg more than the Jawa 42.

Jawa 42 FJ 350' Features

The Jawa 42 FJ gets all-LED lighting and has a full-LCD instrument console like the Jawa 42 and 42 Bobber. The display has a speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level, clock and other basic details, but it lacks smartphone connectivity. The bike also gets a USB charging port for charging mobile phones.

Jawa 42 FJ 350' Performance

The new version of Jawa 42 is more powerful than the current model. This bike comes with a 334cc single-cylinder, DOHC 4V liquid-cooled engine, which generates 29.2ps of power and 29.6Nm of torque. For transmission, the engine is tuned with a 6-speed gearbox and slip-and-assist clutch.

This engine is 1.88ps and 2.76Nm more powerful than the engine given in the standard Jawa 42. The standard Jawa 42 is equipped with a 294cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, J-Panther engine, which generates 27.32PS of power and 26.84Nm of torque.
