Hero Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 version launched

Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2.0 version of the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec in India on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Splendor. The company claims that the bike will run 73 kilometers in one liter of petrol. Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 has been introduced with new graphics and minor cosmetic updates.

It will be available in three color options, which include matte gray, gloss black and gloss red color. The bike has been priced at Rs 82,911 (ex-showroom), which is Rs 3,000 more than the current model. The new Splendor Plus competes with Honda Shine 100, Bajaj CT 100, Bajaj Platina and TVS Radian.

The design of the bike is similar to the older model. It has the same classic design with a square headlamp, but now it gets an LED unit with H-shaped DRL, making it the only 100CC bike to come with an LED headlamp. It also has a new design for the indicator housing.

Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0: Performance

Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0 has a 97.2CC air-cooled, single-cylinder engine for performance. This petrol engine generates 8.02 hp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm of torque at 6,000rpm. The engine is tuned with a 4-speed gearbox for transmission and i3s technology has been used in it.

This is an idle stop start system, in which the engine automatically stops in 5 seconds when the bike is parked and starts again as soon as the clutch is pressed. This reduces fuel consumption. The company claims that the bike gives a mileage of 73 kmpl. It has a fuel tank with a capacity of 9.8 liters.

Splendor Plus Xtec 2.0: Suspension and Features

For fast riding, the bike has telescopic forks at the front and 5-step preload adjustable twin shock absorber suspension at the rear. For braking, 130mm drum brakes are available on both sides, along with CBS and 18-inch wheels with 80-section tubeless tires. Its ground clearance is 165 mm and its curb weight is 122 kg.

Talking about the features, the bike has a fully digital instrument cluster, which shows mileage information. Apart from this, it gets side-stand indicator, speedometer, odometer, trip meter and low fuel indicator readout, Bluetooth connectivity with call and message alerts, USB charging port and more. The bike now also has hazard lights with dedicated switches.
