NZ vs SL Highlights: Sri Lanka out of T20 World Cup 2026, thrashed badly at home by New Zealand

New Zealand faced Sri Lanka on Wednesday in the 46th match of the T20 World Cup 2026. The match was played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Kiwis won the match by 61 runs. This defeat ended Sri Lanka's World Cup campaign.

Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and elected to bowl. Batting first, New Zealand had a poor start, losing six wickets for 84 runs. Captain Mitchell Santner then continued his impressive batting.

He scored 47 runs off 26 balls. Cole McConchie also supported him with an unbeaten 31. Coming in at number 3, Rachin Ravindra contributed 32 runs off 22 balls. The Kiwis scored 168 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs.
