The Panthers skipper Shoaib Malik finally won the toss and chose to field first. The Jaguars openers were in attacking mode with Hales and Jatinder Singh both taking turns, smashing the Panthers bowlers all around the park. Just when it looked like it was time for some Halestorm, Zahoor Khan got the better of Alex Hales. This didn't stop Jatinder Singh from playing his shots. Litton Das was playing second fiddle to Jatinder Singh. At this point, the Jaguars seem to be cruising along a huge total when the Panthers bowlers pulled the leash with their tight bowling. A string of quick wickets held the Jaguars to a total of 164. The Panthers openers were struggling from the start of the innings and things just got worse for them when they started losing wickets.
