England leg spinner Adil Rashid will miss the entire ODI cricket series against Sri Lanka because of a right-hand injury.
Rashid, a mainstay in England`s team for more than a decade, was initially forced out of the first match of the series with the problem.
However, about an hour into the game, the England team released a statement saying Rashid would miss the other two matches as well.
Rehan Ahmed, a spinning allrounder and a protege of Rashid`s, was selected for the series opener in his place.
Rashid sustained the hand injury while fielding as England sealed a 3-0 win in the T20 series against Sri Lanka.
