Kotarangada Appanna is a left arm orthodox bowler and a right handed batsman who represents Karnatka in domestic cricket. Appanna started representing his state at the Under-14 level and went on to play till the Under-22 side. After making appearances at the junior level, he started playing for the senior state side.
He impressed for Karnataka in the 2011-12 season picking up 28 wickets, becoming fourth joint highest wicket taker this season. With his good performances he struck a claim for a regular place in the side. He was also a part of the India Under-19 squad and following a string of good performances, Appanna was signed by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008 for the inaugural IPL edition.
