A right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, Anamul Haque made his first-class debut for Dhaka division in the 2008-09 season. He was part of the Bangladesh Under-19 squad in the U-19 World Cup held in New Zealand. Anamul also toured England with the Under-19 team in 2009 and was the Man of the Match in a youth Test against the Englishmen in the same year. Also an opener in limited-overs cricket, he was called up to Bangladesh's ODI squad for their series against West Indies after becoming the highest run-scorer in the 2012 Under-19 World Cup that was held in Australia, amassing 365 runs at a staggering average of 60.83 including two centuries.
