Alick Athanaze is a Dominican cricketer born on 7th December 1998 and could play a big role in the future to revolutionize West Indies cricket. He made his List A debut at the start of 2017 for the West Indies U-19 team in the West Indies Cricket Board Regional Super50. Later that year, he was picked in the squad for the 2018 U19 Cricket World Cup and was the leading run-getter in the competition with 418 runs in six innings which resulted in him being dubbed the West Indies team's rising star by the International Cricket Council (ICC). He honed his skills and gained notoriety for his ball-striking prowess by playing local T20 and T10 events. He made his first-class debut for the Windward Islands towards the end of 2018 in the WICB Professional Cricket League Regional 4-Day Tournament and had an impressive outing.
