If we look at the performance of the Indian women's team in T20 International in the year 2024, it will look much better, but while the team lost the final match of the Asia Cup, the team's performance in the World Cup was also very poor.
The year 2024 can be considered quite disappointing for the Indian women's cricket team in T20 International, in which it could not manage to win a single major tournament. This year Team India participated in the Women's Asia Cup and then the Women's T20 World Cup. In both these tournaments, the Indian women's team was considered one of the strong contenders to win the title, but many fans had to face disappointment. This year Team India played a total of 23 T20 International matches, out of which it managed to win 15 but lost 7 while one match was cancelled.
In the year 2024, the Indian women's team played its first three-match T20 series at home against the Australian women's team in which it lost 2-1. Team India managed to win the first match of this series but had to face defeat in the remaining two matches. After the end of this series, the Indian women's team went on a tour of Bangladesh where it had to play a 5-match T20 series and in this it defeated Bangladesh in its own home.
After defeating Bangladesh in its own home, the Indian women's team played a three-match T20 series against the South African women's team in their home in which Team India had to face defeat in the first match while the second match was cancelled. Team India won the last and decisive match of the series by 10 wickets and the series ended in a 1-1 draw. After the end of this series, Team India reached Sri Lanka to play the Women's Asia Cup tournament in which the team's performance was one-sided till the final but in the title match it had to face defeat against Sri Lanka by 8 wickets.
New Zealand managed to win the Women's T20 World Cup played in the UAE this year, but the Indian team was also among the strong contenders to win the title. However, Team India's worst performance was seen so far, in which it lost 2 out of 4 matches in the group stage and was eliminated before the knockout stage.
The Indian women's team played its last series in the T20 format in the year 2024 against the West Indies in three matches at home. The Indian team managed to win the first match of this series, but the Windies team won the second match to level the series 1-1, then the Indian women's team won the last match by a one-sided 60 runs and ended the year with a 2-1 series win.
