IPL 2026: Everyone is eagerly awaiting the auction dates for the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). People are also wondering whether the auction will be held in India like last year or outside India. Now, a report has surfaced regarding this. According to a report by news agency PTI, the IPL mini auction will be held outside India next month.
This time, there will be a mini auction. A mega auction is held every three years, which took place in Jeddah last year. This time, the player trading window is open, allowing franchises to trade players with each other. Franchises have not yet released their list of released and retained players.
According to a PTI report, the IPL 2026 auction is expected to be held on December 15th and 16th next month. This auction will not be held in India, but in Abu Dhabi. A BCCI official told PTI this information. This will be the third consecutive year that the IPL auction will be held outside India. The 2023 auction was also held in Dubai. The source said, "Abu Dhabi has been confirmed for this year's auction."
However, no official announcement has been made by the BCCI yet. Official confirmation will come only after a statement from the BCCI. It remains to be seen when the BCCI makes an official announcement.
The deadline for all franchises to submit their lists of retained and released players is November 15th. Currently, discussions are underway between franchises regarding trading. It is believed that Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson may move to Chennai Super Kings. In exchange, Chennai can hand over Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to Rajasthan.
