Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant has been fined Rs 12 lakh. The Delhi Capitals captain was found guilty of violating the IPL code of conduct on Sunday. Delhi undoubtedly registered its first win of IPL 2024 in Visakhapatnam, but one mistake against Chennai Super Kings cost it dearly.
Delhi Capitals kept a slow over-rate against CSK, due to which Pant was fined Rs 12 lakh. Rishabh Pant has become the second captain in the current IPL, who has been fined for violating the IPL code of conduct. Earlier, Gujarat Titans captain Shubhman Gill has been fined.
The 13th match of IPL 2024 was played between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings in Visakhapatnam on Sunday. In this match, a unique connection was made between both the teams. Delhi Capitals registered their first win in the tournament while Chennai Super Kings suffered their first defeat.
Chennai Super Kings was playing its first match away from home. Kolkata Knight Riders is the only team in the current IPL to have won a match away from home. KKR defeated RCB at its home ground M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Pant and Gill were fined Rs 12 lakh as this was the team's first offence. If this mistake is repeated then the captains will be fined Rs 24 lakh. Apart from this, other members of the team will also be fined 25 percent of the match fee.
If the team commits a mistake for the third time, the captain will be fined Rs 30 lakh and banned for one match. Other team members will be fined 50 percent of the match fee.
