Karachi. In a major relief to young batsman Haider Ali, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lifted his provisional suspension with immediate effect. The PCB has also issued Haider Ali a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to play in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

Haider Ali's approval comes after Manchester Police completely cleared him of rape allegations. Haider had been away from competitive cricket since September, when he was accused by a Pakistani woman in the United Kingdom.

The Complete Timeline:

  • Charges and Suspension: Haider Ali was on a tour of England with the Pakistan Shaheens team at the time. At that time, rape allegations were filed against him with the Manchester City Police. Following the allegations, the PCB suspended him until the investigation was completed.
  • Police Clean Chit: Manchester Police closed the investigation on September 25, stating that they did not find sufficient evidence to take the case to court or arrest the cricketer.
  • PCB Decision: Now, with the legal hurdles cleared, the PCB on Wednesday confirmed the revocation of Haider Ali's suspension and the issuance of his NOC for the BPL.

Other Pakistani players in the BPL:

In addition to Haider Ali, the PCB has also granted NOCs to Mohammad Nawaz, Abrar Ahmed, Sahibzada Farhan, Faheem Ashraf, Hussain Talat, Khawaja Nafe, and Ehsanullah to participate in the BPL. All these players will be seen playing in this prestigious Bangladesh T20 league, adding to the glamour of the tournament. Haider Ali has played 35 T20Is and 2 ODIs for Pakistan and is known as an aggressive batsman.
