IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has unveiled its new jersey for IPL 2026. Young batsman Ayush Mhatre and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad were present at the launch. Chennai has also secured a new sponsor, which will remain in place for the next four years. Previously, Gulf Oil, a subsidiary of the Hinduja Group, was the jersey sponsor.
IPL 2026: CSK launches its new jersey for IPL 2026
The jersey was launched at Ashok Leyland's headquarters in Chennai. The company's chairman, Dheeraj Hinduja, and managing director and chief executive officer, Shenu Agarwal, were also present. CSK captain Gaikwad and Ayush Mhatre represented CSK. With this, CSK's new jersey has been launched.
Ashok Leyland will also sponsor the team's kit. This agreement is for the next four years. Gulf Oil, a subsidiary of the Hinduja Group, previously sponsored the jersey for 15 years.
Chennai (CSK) sets up camp -
There's not much time left for the IPL 2026 to begin. The schedule is expected to be announced after the T20 World Cup 2026 final. However, the tournament is scheduled to begin on March 28th. Chennai has set up its camp for the upcoming season, where MS Dhoni was seen practicing. Other players were also seen preparing at the camp. Coach Stephen Fleming is expected to join on March 16th.
A poor season for the CSK team -
The last two seasons have been disastrous for CSK. Chennai won the IPL title for the fifth time in 2023. However, they failed to qualify for the playoffs for two consecutive seasons after that. 2025 was an even worse season for Chennai, finishing at the bottom of the points table. The team will now look to bounce back and make a strong comeback in 2026.
Sanju Samson Joins CSK -
Chennai acquired Sanju Samson via trade ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. In return, Chennai traded Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to Rajasthan. Sanju's arrival strengthens the team. He can also assist Gaikwad in the captaincy.
