IPL player registration officially closed on November 4, 2024, with a total of 1,574 players (1,165 Indians and 409 overseas) signing up to be a part of the mega Tata IPL 2025 player auction, which will be held over two days on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The list includes 320 capped players, 1,224 uncapped players and 30 players from Associate Nations.
This time the franchises are preparing to complete their team of 25 players. Therefore, a total of 204 slots will be vacant in the auction. With so many talented players competing for these places, the competition is expected to be tough. Last year 333 names were shortlisted. Now it remains to be seen what this number will be this time. Surprisingly, an Italian player has registered. He is probably Joe Burns, who has previously played for Australia. The last IPL auction was held in Dubai, in which two players attracted a lot of attention. One was Mitchell Starc, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 24.75 crore and the other was Pat Cummins, who joined Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 20.50 crore.
