India to tour Ireland ahead of England tour; when will the T20 series be played?

Ahead of their white-ball tour of England, world champions India will tour Ireland in June for a T20 International series. Graham West, Ireland's High Performance Director, confirmed this series while announcing Paul Stirling's decision to step down as the T20 International captain. India is currently hosting Afghanistan for a tour comprising one Test match and a three-match ODI series; this series is scheduled to conclude on June 20.

When will the series start?

India is set to travel to England from July 1 to July 19 to play five T20 Internationals and three ODIs; the series against Ireland will precede this tour of England. Graham West stated that this series against India constitutes a crucial part of their plans for the upcoming summer season.

West further added that, with qualification for the 2028 T20 World Cup already secured, Paul Stirling's decision to relinquish the T20 captaincy provides an opportunity for the new captain to begin implementing their own style and methodology.

Paul Stirling Steps Down as T20 Captain-

This will begin with the series against India scheduled for June. Over the past seven years, India has toured Ireland three times (2018, 2022, and 2023). Although Stirling has decided to step down from the T20 captaincy, he will continue to lead Ireland in ODIs and has stated that he remains fully committed to contributing across all formats.
