Axar Patel ruled out remaining matches of IND vs SA T20I series, BCCI announced his replacement: Axar Patel will not be able to play in the remaining two T20 matches against South Africa. He has been ruled out of the series due to illness.

A T20 series is currently being played between India and South Africa. Team India is leading the five-match T20 series 2-1. However, Team India has suffered a major setback during this series. Star all-rounder Axar Patel has been ruled out of the remaining two matches of the series. He is currently unwell. Due to illness, Axar was unable to play in the third T20 match in Dharamshala.

BCCI provides a major update on Axar Patel-

The BCCI has announced that Team India all-rounder Axar Patel has been ruled out of the remaining two T20 matches against South Africa due to illness. He is currently with the team in Lucknow, where he will undergo medical tests. The BCCI's men's selection committee has named Shahbaz Ahmed as his replacement for the T20 International matches to be played in Lucknow and Ahmedabad. This marks Shahbaz Ahmed's return to the team after two years. He last played for India in October 2023.

Shahbaz Ahmed international career:

Shahbaz Ahmed has played three ODIs and two T20 Internationals for India. He made his international debut in 2022. He has taken 3 wickets in ODIs and 2 wickets in T20Is. He has also played for Lucknow Super Giants, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. He plays for Bengal in domestic cricket.

How did Axar Patel perform in the South Africa series?

Axar Patel got a chance to play in the first two matches of the South Africa series. In the first two T20 matches played in Cuttack and New Chandigarh, Axar took three wickets and scored 21 and 23 runs respectively. In Cuttack, he played a crucial role in Team India's victory by taking two wickets for just seven runs. In New Chandigarh, he came to bat at number three but could only score 21 runs. Team India suffered a defeat in that match.
