Former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram has expressed his desire to see Test cricket between the two countries in the future.
"This Asia Cup will be memorable for fans around the world. I wish that India and Pakistan play a Test series again. It has been a long time and it will be a historic one for fans of both countries," Akram said.
PCB has announced a 15-member squad for the Women's World Cup 2025, where Fatima Sana will be seen as the captain of the team and Muniba Ali Siddiqui has been selected as the vice-captain of the team.
Pakistan women's team secured their place in this World Cup by remaining undefeated during the qualifiers in April. Under Fatima's captaincy, the team topped the table by defeating strong contenders like West Indies and Bangladesh.
Former South Africa captain Dane van Niekerk has withdrawn her retirement from the game. The player announced it through a social media post on August 25.

International Cricket Council (ILT20) franchise Gulf Giants have appointed Jonathan Trott as head coach and Shane Bond as bowling coach for the upcoming season. They will replace Andy Flower and Ottis Gibson respectively.

With Pujara announcing his retirement, Indian pacer Jaydev Unadkat shared an interesting anecdote about how the batsman became the reason for his entry into the IPL.
Speaking on X (formerly Twitter), Unadkat, who like Pujara plays for Saurashtra, revealed that he received a message from the veteran batsman in 2010 that changed his life and career forever.
“Hi Jaydev, this is Cheteshwar speaking. I have spoken to Dada, and you have to go to KKR trials. You are bowling really well, so keep it up. It was our first phone conversation in 2010, after a Ranji Trophy net practice where I was still a net bowler. I had no idea then that we would become best friends and share some of our best memories, and that too not just on the field,” Unadkat wrote.
Pujara told Sports Tak after the announcement, “It was my personal decision and I decided that this is the right time, especially when young players should get opportunities in domestic cricket.” He further said, “Earlier I thought that maybe I would play in this Ranji season, but then I thought that if young players get a chance, they will be ready quickly. So it was my personal decision. About the last few years, when I was not a part of the Indian team, I do not want to say much.”
“Maybe I will rejoin IPL in a different role in the future, but it is really difficult to commit to a full season professionally, and I believe those days are over now. But, you can never say no. My heart is with RCB and will always be. So, if a franchise feels there is a role (as coach or mentor) for me, when my time is right and ready, it will definitely be RCB,” de Villiers told IANS.
