Western Sydney Stadium, also known as CommBank Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-purpose stadium in the Parramatta suburb of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It replaced the demolished Parramatta Stadium (1986), which in turn was built on the site of the old Cumberland Oval, the home ground of the Parramatta Eels since 1947. The current stadium opened in April 2019 and has a seating capacity of 30,000. The stadium is owned by the NSW Government and was built at a cost of A$300 million. It hosts major rectangular field sports matches in Sydney. The stadium's primary uses are hosting rugby league, association football, and rugby union matches, as well as concerts and special events. Its main tenants are the National Rugby League club Parramatta Eels and the A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers. Other tenants include the NRL team Wests Tigers, who used the stadium as an alternate venue between 2019 and 2023 and will do so again from the 2025 NRL season onwards.
