Wellington Regional Stadium (commercially known as Sky Stadium due to naming rights) is a major sports venue in Wellington, New Zealand. The stadium's bowl area covers 48,000 m² (520,000 sq ft). Built in 1999 by Fletcher Construction, the stadium is located one kilometer (0.62 mi) north of the CBD, close to major transport links (such as Wellington Railway Station). It was constructed on reclaimed railway land. The stadium is also a large-capacity venue for concerts and is colloquially known as "The Cake Tin."
