RheinEnergieStadion, formerly known as Müngersdorfer Stadion or Müngersdorfer Stadium, is a German football stadium in Cologne. It was built on the site of the two previous Müngersdorfer stadiums. It is the home ground of the local 1. Bundesliga team, 1. FC Köln. The stadium was one of eight venues for UEFA Euro 1988, hosting two group stage matches: the USSR's 1-0 victory over the Netherlands and Italy's 2-0 win against Denmark. It was one of five stadiums to host both the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2006 FIFA World Cup, hosted the 2020 UEFA Europa League Final behind closed doors, and is one of the ten host stadiums for UEFA Euro 2024. The local energy company RheinEnergie AG currently holds the naming rights to the stadium; therefore, for the final, it was known as Stadion Köln.
