The Neckarstadion, officially known as the MHPArena for sponsorship reasons, is a stadium located in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and is the home ground of Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart. It has hosted matches of the 1974 FIFA World Cup, UEFA Euro 1988, 2006 FIFA World Cup, and UEFA Euro 2024. In addition, the 1959 European Cup Final, the replay of the 1962 European Cup Winners' Cup Final, the 1988 European Cup Final, and the second leg of the 1989 UEFA Cup Final were also held at the stadium. It is the only stadium in Europe to have hosted multiple World Cup, European Championship, and European Cup/Champions League finals. Before its redevelopment into a football-specific stadium in 2009, the stadium also hosted the 1986 European Athletics Championships and the 1993 World Athletics Championships. Prior to 1993, it was called the Neckarstadion, after the nearby Neckar River. Between 1993 and July 2008, it was known as the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion. At the start of the 2008–09 season, the stadium was renamed Mercedes-Benz Arena, with a pre-season friendly match against Arsenal on July 30, 2008, marking the occasion. On July 1, 2023, the stadium was renamed MHPArena.
