Kings have a deep guard rotation with Fox, Mitchell, Haliburton, and Hield. Even if two of these players are missing, the guard combination isn’t compromised that much.
Still, the team struggled despite having an experienced wing in Harrison Barnes, a decent bench with Terance Davis as a dynamic scorer, Metu as a hustle player, and Richuan Holmes in the Center along with big forward Marvin Bagley.
The list of issues is long but perhaps the main reason why the Kings struggle is sheer lack of hustle and a brittle defense.
Jason Kidd was a fighter during his playing days and he had led so-so teams to the Finals, and now, although the Mavericks look far far away from Finals this season, they have kept the fight on.

Mavericks keep themselves in the game through tremendous grit and now even without Hardaway and Doncic, two of their major scorers, the team has earned a lot of respect.
