Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors both have tremendous defensive units, both in the starting five and the bench.
The Suns and Warriors are built to win more so because of defense than the offense. There are teams like Hornets and Spurs who can score on average more than these two teams but they are far behind because of the defense that the two teams have played all season long.
While the Suns have two solid defensive wings in Bridges and Crowder, two fighting guards in Booker and Paul while Ayton is a terrific last-line-of-defense.
Scoring-wise, Booker, and Curry are both adaptive scorers and can deploy multiple moves. With Poole and Wiggins out, the Warriors will need more out of Curry, which they have done so far.
For the Suns, the guard quartet of Paul, Booker, Shamet, and Payne, presents both scoring and playmaking.
Meanwhile, the three regular wings in Bridges, Crowder, and Johnson are two-way players. However, scoring-wise Deandre Ayton’s inside scoring helps in dispersing the defense.
To counter such a threat, the Warriors will need Gary Payton II, Otto Porter Jr., Nemanja Bjelica, and Juan Toscano-Anderson to make some hay here.
