Utah Jazz has lost to two sub-par squads in Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans recently(the latter being in a worse position than Grizzlies).

These games have been close, lost on the late-game shots, plus many teams with losing records have engaged in close tussles with Jazz this season.

Last season, Jazz had the best record, but now with Suns and Warriors on power boosters, that looks unlikely.

Still, with Mitchell as the iso scorer, Bogdanovic as the floor stretcher, and with guards like Conley and Clarkson, guided by the defensive anchor Rudy Gobert, you expect Utah to win more than 48 games this season.

A team like Trail Blazers can’t afford many offensive lapses as their defense is downright horrible.

Portland has been unable to contain opponents’ offense for some years now and it remains the Achilles Heel.

Damian and CJ have been on-and-off on offense usually and while they had strong performances here and there individually, the two have not come up big together in the same game that much.

There is some depth with Simons, Nance, Little coming off the bench but still, even the bench players lack consistency.

With Powell and Nurkic in the frontline, generating offense is not much trouble but perhaps Robert Covington is the only decent defender in the starting unit. Portland needs to fix its defense big time or the team will keep struggling.
