Team India showed their power once again as they won the Asia Cup 2025 final by beating Pakistan with five wickets at the Dubai International Stadium. With this victory, India lifted their ninth Asia Cup trophy, a record in the tournament’s history.
India’s Chase Under Pressure
Pakistan gave India a target of 147 runs. But India had a poor start as the top three batters got out quickly for just 20 runs in four overs. The game looked tough, but Tilak Varma batted calmly and scored an unbeaten 69 runs from 53 balls, guiding India towards victory.
He was well supported by Sanju Samson (24 runs) and Shivam Dube (33 runs), who added important runs at key moments. The winning shot came from Rinku Singh, who hit the ball against Haris Rauf in the final over when India needed just one run from three balls.

Pakistan’s Bright Start, India’s Comeback
Earlier, Pakistan had a flying start after India’s captain Suryakumar Yadav chose to field. Openers Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman added 84 runs in just 58 balls, putting pressure on India. But the bowlers fought back strongly. Kuldeep Yadav shone with 4 wickets for 30 runs, helping India bowl out Pakistan for 146 in 19.1 overs.
Star Performers of the Tournament
India’s journey to the title had many heroes. Abhishek Sharma was the top run-scorer, making 314 runs in seven matches with three half-centuries. His brilliant form also won him the Player of the Tournament award.

On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav finished as the highest wicket-taker with 17 wickets in seven games at an economy rate of just 6.25. His magical bowling troubled opponents throughout the tournament.

India’s title win became even more special as they finished the Asia Cup unbeaten. Not only did they win all their matches, but they also defeated Pakistan three times, proving their strength and balance as a team.
