Abhishek Sharma blistering innings against Pakistan: Abhishek Sharma's blistering half-century and a century partnership with Shubman Gill helped India defeat Pakistan by six wickets in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup T20 cricket tournament on Sunday. Chasing Pakistan's target of 172, India reached 174 for four with seven balls to spare, thanks to a 105-run opening partnership between Abhishek (74 runs, 39 balls, six fours, five sixes) and Gill (47 runs, 28 balls, eight fours). Tilak Verma also played a fine innings, scoring an unbeaten 30 off 19 balls, studded with two sixes and two fours.

Abhishek and Shubman gave India a stormy start in their chase. The duo added 69 runs in the power play. Abhishek hit a six off Shaheen Shah Afridi's first ball of the innings. Gill also hit two fours off offspinner Saim Ayub in the next over. Abhishek was lucky to be on nine when Nawaz failed to take a difficult catch off Shaheen Shah's bowling. Gill hit two fours in the same over.

Abhishek eased the pressure on Faheem with two fours. He hit a huge six over long-on off Abrar, but was caught by Rauf at long-on off the next ball, leaving India at 123 for three. Sanju Samson and Verma then took charge. Samson hit a four off Faheem, while Verma hit a four off Shaheen.
