Ahead of WPL 2026, the UP Warriors Women strengthened their squad during the Mega Auction held on 27 November in New Delhi. After finishing last in the previous season, UP Warriors made bold decisions by releasing most of their players and rebuilding their team with both experienced internationals and talented Indian stars.
UP-W Retentions and Strategic Signings
UP Warriors retained just one player before the auction:
- Shweta Sahrawat (₹50 lakh) – All-rounder
The team then made a strong start in the auction by acquiring Indian star all-rounder Deepti Sharma using the RTM card for ₹3.2 crore. Deepti brings experience and consistency, strengthening both batting and bowling departments.

UP Warriors made notable signings to form a competitive squad:
- Meg Lanning (₹1.9 crore) – Former Australia and Delhi captain, top-order batter
- Phoebe Litchfield (₹1.2 crore) – Young Australian opener
- Sophie Ecclestone (₹85 lakh) – England’s experienced spinner
- Asha Shobhana (₹1.1 crore) – Indian pace bowler
- Shikha Pandey (₹2.4 crore) – All-rounder
Other players added to the squad include Kiran Navgire, Harleen Deol, Kranti Gaud, Diandra Dottin, Shipra Giri, Simran Sheikh, Tara Norris, Chloe Tryon, Suman Meena, G Trisha, and Pratika Rawal, providing depth in all departments.
After the auction, the UP Warriors had a remaining purse of ₹15 lakh, giving them flexibility for future adjustments.
