Australian fast bowler Brett Lee was the first bowler to take a hat-trick in a T20 World Cup. He achieved this feat in the first edition of the T20 World Cup, the 2007 T20 World Cup. In a match against Bangladesh, Brett Lee dismissed Shakib Al Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza, and Alok Kapali in three consecutive balls to achieve the hat-trick.
